Profile
Artist/Band Profile: Colortronic is an electronic project which blends color and music, giving a meaning for each color. The climate, landscape and emotions of each song will result in a determinating coloring.
Colortronic is the materialization in sounds and colors of DJ Kandle's synesthesia. Kandle started deejaying in 1997 as a guest DJ for the radio program EP Vanguarda (Imprensa FM, Rio de Janeiro - Brasil), broadcasting the latest tracks in rock and electro. He was the resident DJ of Incense (the first psy-trance ever held in Rio), Mantra, Nextribe and Hypnotica and Electrolounge (Bunker). In 2001 Kandle was one of the attractions of Rock in Rio III Festival (Electro Tent), on January 14th (Oasis and Guns N’Roses played on the main stage), where about 120,000 attended.
Colortronic was born in 2002 after a two months journey around California. The first live P.A. was in Electro Beach Rave, on the New Year's Eve of 2003 on Ipanema Beach, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Colortronic has performed in Culturall (FM radio program, Rio), Electric Head (Bunker 94, Rio), Ecorave (Macumba Beach, Rio), StormLab (Rio), E-Movement (Ilha, Rio), Taquicardia (Rio) and so on. Colortronic was one of the selected names to play in PLUG festival in 2004. PLUG is a project which main focus is to discover new names in the Brazilian electronic scene. Colortronic also made the soundtrack for Ricardo Arita in Fashion Rio in 2003. During January Colortronic was on the cover of Fiberonline, one of the biggest Brazilian websites dedicated to electronic music ("With several presentations in Rio's effervescent scene, this project is one of the new names to tame the genres war. They navigate with competence between trance and techno, risking even more climatic textures reminding Ibiza.").
Sonic Rainbow is the name of Colortronic's debut album, with 12 songs accompaining the colors of the rainbow.
