Artist/Band Profile: I grew up with my mom, dad, cousin and 2 sisters . I started writing when I was young as hell. I was thirteen. I LOVE HIP HOP/ electronic music, and write my own music and raps, im in school and its hard but i know it will be worth it, down the road. and i believe in freedom of speech and karma; what goes around comes around. i dig all music. I listen to pretty much any kind of music, as long as it has a meaning behind it. Out of bound ish alt hiphop pop electro rap. Anyhow, I've been influenced by many sounds, and types of music, especially the club scene, both in Toronto and Lower Manhattan, Vancouver and living in London and Tokyo and Seoul has had an enormous impact in my life and my musical style. When I was 13, started rhyming at school and when I was 15 I got my hands on a sequence keyboard and started putting the lyrics and beats together and one track and show led to another and with the support of my friends, family and fans, thats what really made me wanna take this rap shit serious and I haven't stopped. Similar Artists: You can’t help but feel the tug of the energy that circulates through each and every single track on Damir and Rimad’s records. Damir/Rimad has control of his music, something that very few lyricists and musicians in his “scene” (pardon the cliché) are capable of maintaining. With exceptions like Depeche Mode, Julie Ruin, Ladytron, Le Tigre and, in my opinion at least, Cabaret Voltaire, he is one of few who can deliver emotion in typically cold, technology-based music. He manages to make his music do what all good music should ultimately do.

Reviews: LOS ANGELES (www.damirworld.com) - Following from his first released mixed tape, Damir returns with BTS and Live at the Elmo. The live recording has the raw energy with clicks and hisses the BTS album is on a quite different spectrum, clean and polished, both of which captures the creative form of a true innovator.

“Business” clearly is the best track on both albums. I had the song stuck in my head for weeks, from a hardcore alternative rap to an electronic trace melody that beats you down until you start moving. The baselines pace smoothes out keeping to the elements of a typical hip-hop track, juxtaposed with a trance rave techno feel.

It’s like Yo, what’s up, with the gold chains meets the jumping ravers swinging florescent sticks in the dark at a rave. “Business” definitely is one to think about but at the same time gets you on the dance floor. There’s a romantic element to the BTS album, his former girlfriend from NYC to the track? “I always want to be with you”. And we all know that good relationships are hard to find, with this in mind, enough said about this track. Touching on relationships and the difficulties in life from social issues to finding a job are all evident.

But the album doesn’t end there, it actually gives you advice. I definitely didn’t ask for any advice, but what Damir says is something to be reckoned with. Call it, “Tech-Hop”, as the artist calls it. I call it, ambitious, innovative and inventive.
