Solo Instruments
This is an old piece that I redid when I got in a similar mood but didn't feel like writing a whole new song. It's a pretty sad, slow piece. It's meant to immitate an actual acoustic guitar, but it's all totally synthesized. Enjoy!

This was a piece I composed to submit to the NYSSMA Electronic Composers Contest, which was kinda a last minute thing this year. Anyway, I'm pretty proud of it since it mimicks the style of "Cool" and Offender Theme but is still all original - no loops. Enjoy!

Electrify started when Nick and I decided we should attempt the near-impossible: write a techno piece that involves musical talent. Unfortunately, we failed: Electrify isn't techno at all, it's more 80s synth pop. But it's still pretty cool. And 80s. Enjoy!

Artist/Band Profile: Well, I'm just one person, Andy Van Ness, that likes to write music in his spare time. Sometimes I team up with others, but mostly I just write my own music. For performance, I usually synthesize everything using Reason, sometimes recording live tracks in GarageBand, too. Most of my music is serious, but some is also satire making fun of certain genres (see Amburgers and Wootbeer). I dunno, I don't claim my music has any particular attraction, but some people like it, and I find it less annoying than some songs out there, so here it is. :-P Enjoy, everyone! Music Style: Electronica, I guess. I don't really know... pretty standard harmonies most of the time, sometimes a jazz feel, sometimes a techno feel, sometimes a poppy instrumental feel. Occasional comedy. *shrugs*
