Hello - Hello. Mandarin Road has been having difficulty these days. With our bass player in Miami and unemployed and the rest of us here in the Naples area with two out of the remaining three unemployed, things are getting a bit on the dreary side. There is no money to be going back and forth across the state for practice and the jobs are coming in slowly and far between. Every time I book a gig, the closer the gig gets to being here, the more freaked out the boys become due to lack of practice. So, I've decided to hold off booking any more gigs until we can all get our shit together. I'm getting sick of them wanting to cancel gigs like two days before we are supposed to be showing up. It leaves me not wanting to do the proper promotion since I never know if we are going to be there or not. Since I take quite a bit of pride in my promotional activites, I'm letting it go. So, where does this leave us??? Well, I figure we should just spend this down time practicing on our own to prerecordings taken in the garage and get into the studio. We have more than a few friends willing to help us out in that department for free of charge. I think we should take advantage. It will buy us time and get us something useful out of no playing out. Ugh. This sucks, but what the heck? Maybe a bad situation could turn around for the better and we end up with one bad ass recording. You never know. I'm going to try to stay positive and truck on as they say. Whoever "they" are.
Peace out!
