I haven't checked this site in a while, and it's good to see people are still downloading and enjoying my music. I have just changed the creative commons licensing on all the tracks to allow modifications to the songs, as I would love it if anyone wanted to remix any of my tracks. If you're interested, just let me know and I can send you all the pieces you need for remixing. Also, If you like my music but haven't downloaded it yet, please do so, as I will be taking the songs I have on here down to make room for some songs off my new album (soon to be completed, it will be called "Tao"). But as usual my entire catalogue can be downloaded from a number of other places for free (notably Last FM: www.last.fm/music/the+peach+tree and MP3.com.au: www.mp3.com.au/thepeachtree.
I hope everyone's start to the year is going well. Peace and love

Well this is cool it seems my tracks "Psy Vampires" and "The Electro Magnetic Connection Association" are numbers 2 and 3 respectively on the psytrance charts for the last 7 days. That's pretty cool. My other Progressive Electronica songs are not doing so well but they're still in the charts which is cool. "Doctor Seuss Or A Sheep" is at no. 12 for the last 7 days, with "Hard Drug Abuse" at no. 19 and finally "Everybody Get Up And Fuckenndance (This Is MDMA)" at 37. Hard Drug Abuse is also a bit higher in the "last 30 days" chart ending up at 15. All in all, stats that make me happy. ArtistServer rocks!

Title: Synaptic Response (Actually...)

Well, being honest, when I wrote that Synaptic Response "could be, seriously, the best music in the world", I was pretty stoned and anything would have sounded good. That being said, I really like the music, but on further listens his voice is kinda irritating, and his lyrical themes are horribly banal. The great thing about SN (and the thing that hit me when I first listened to it) is the texture and soundscapes. So if you're into that, have a listen, he makes good use of his voice and blends it well with the sounds he makes. But, it's just... so obviously derived from Tool, from the almost exact copying of Maynard James Keanon's intonation to the lyrical content (and being a copy it falls way short of the mark). It just seems like "complaintro" IMO. Yea, that's a new term I'm coining, "complaintro", or maybe "complainwave". It seems ridiculous that I could change my opinion so much, but hey it just goes to show: when you're stoned not everything is as good as it sounds.

I've just discovered what could be, seriously, the best music in the world. It's just my opinion, but there's something really magical about this artist: Synaptic Response.
Dig it.
Reverse your stereo.

Listening To: Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
My first encounter with ArtistServer has been amazing. In just a few days I have received more hits than I have in months at other places. This is a very warm, welcoming place, and I'm very happy to have discovered it. Top rating tracks are Psy Vampires, with 21 points, and Hard Drug Abuse, with 20 points, followed by The Electro Magnetic Connection Association at 16, Everybody Get Up And Fuckenndance (Cos This Is MDMA) at 10, and lastly Doctor Seuss Or A Sheep with 6. Total downloads are 22, with 51 streams. Not bad for only two days up time. If anyone would like to download the whole album that these tracks come from, "Psychosis", it can be found for free download at a number of places, notably the 320Kbps files at MP3.com.au. Please feel free to write reviews or send me an email, I'd love to hear what you all think of my music.
-Til next time,
Angus
