Seriously, that's the number to his office.
Call if you want to support patients rights for medical marijuana in California. AB 2279 is a proposed initiative to end discrimination against legal cannabis patients by their employers.
Do you know anyone with a doctor's recommendation for marijuana? I do, my girlfriend, and myself. Because of this, we're not eligible for pretty much any job that might drug-test her [aside from *hacking* the test...], whether pre-employment or randoms. There is currently NO protection for the estimated 300,000 medical marijuana patients in California when it comes to employment discrimination. These people should not be punished by not being allowed employment especially in these shakey economic times. We shouldn't be discriminated against because of the medicine WE use, that WE helped legitimize and make law.
To support is easy. Call this number (916) 445-2841. You won't have to talk to ANYONE, it's purely AUTOMATED.
You press "1" for english, "2" for spanish...
Press "2" for legislation...
Press the number for AB 2279 when you hear it...
Press "1" to support.
That's it!
Remember, there are also many people who want this legislation VETOED by the governer, and you can be sure they'll contact him as well.
So we need everyone's support on this bill, so please tell everyone that you think will support! I heard through the wire that he's supposed to decide on it THIS WEEKEND!
The time is now, please call and help further compassion.
Peace
