Artist/Band Profile: Northcape make warm, distinctive and refreshing electronica from the UK. Northcape has developed a distinctive and unifying style, which although it sometimes faces the dark side of life normally retains an essential optimism. This approach leads to something that is both enjoyable to listen to and refreshingly different. All of the tracks have a certain unifying melodic style and indefinable personal feel.

Music Style: Northcape is influenced by a wide range of different genres, but in particular IDM, trance, beats and breaks, ambient and downbeat electronica. Although most tracks (so far) don't have lyrics, they are all drawn strongly from personal experience. The music is produced in a very intuitive way, rather than attempting to make a particular type of track or fit into a particular musical gentre (and I hate premade loops- the only loops here are Northcapes own...)

This track [Long Way Gone] is awesome. That bass sounds brilliant and such a great bass line as usual from you.This just takes hold of you and never lets go. The choice of sounds is inspired and it all goes together beautifully. That new melodic part that comes in at about 3:25 is pure magic. You are living proof that the record companies have lost the plot and if I had a label i'd sign you up without a second thought. Keep up the great work. And thanks for releasing a fantastic album.

'Just marvellous!'
Northcape is famous for absolutely beautiful and clear electronic sounds. And fans won't be disappointed when listening to Cascade...or they get just knocked off their chair like it happened to me when I first had the chance to enjoy this skillfully contructed work. The drums are somewhat crushed while still the overall melodic and harmonic sine melodies fly over the rusty hills of a robot cementary 3494 a.d. You see it opens up images in your mind. A perfect source for inspiration. The contrast between drums and vibes is the biggest contrast in this tune. And that's exactly what makes it so intense and attractive. I'm addicted, that's for sure...
