Artist/Band Profile: Melodic, beat driven electronic songs that soothe your mind, and rock your body. It's like being at an all you can eat digital music buffet, and you are a fat, fat man.

Timothy Allan is an independent Canadian electronic musician and producer currently residing in Melbourne,Australia. Integrating numerous musical influences including, but not limited to, techno, house, progressive, trance, and ambient, Allan’s music borrows from a variety of genres and explores the boundaries of contemporary electronic formats.

Allan first discovered electronic music in the mid 1980’s after hearing songs composed in the almost extinct method of computer ‘tracking’. Discovering the underground, pre-Internet BBS scene that traded and created these files would prove to be instrumental in furthering Allan’s creative development. Initially using computer and software technologies to create compositions, Allan eventually felt limited by the restrictions of the medium and began to explore other avenue

Music Style: Most of my tracks take leads from genres like trance / house / downtempo jazz / funk disco porn. Other tunes of mine are a little more experimental/ambient. The common denominator in most of them is percussion. I love making totally different percussion pieces fit together to for a giant beat.

Influences: The usual guys, you know, Tiesto, Mauro, Paul van Dyke, Ferry. There is so many good ones out there, and I can never remember specific names, but pretty much everyone on flaresound.com :)

Studio / Music Equipment: My studio currently consists of a HD recorder, hardware sequencer and 2 synths.
