Song Lyrics
Dawn's Rising
Your looking through a window built into tomorrow
You can’t see past the curtain, your head is spinning ‘round
Reality is close but you don’t know how to hold her
You don’t have any hope and there’s no hero found
The morning is your savior
But you will never have it
Your hole is much too deep now
And the bottom is wreaking havoc
And now you find your face to face with the soul beggar
He holds you ever tighter, telling you you’re free
But free is just a word and words don’t really matter
You hope that you will be rising
But you know that it’s not true
You always thought that it would be better
If you turned from pink to blue
For just an instant you thought that you saw your corner
A tear of hope rolls down your face, one you can’t feel
For feel is just a word and words don’t really matter
It's happening again, is any of this real
Your hole is much too deep now
You know you’ll never leave it
Your world is wreaking havoc
Dawn’s rising there

Review: This is solid guitar playing and sound production. I'm especially happy the lead singer is a good singer! If I were listening to this in a concert, I would enjoy it. But the songs lack core concepts. Which is fine, of course, except that it means I (and probably others) won't play it more than once or twice. The lyrics want to be everywhere at once, and the song form morphs over all these chord progressions, simple lines, and tempo changes trying to grasp onto something that just isn't there. In all, good musicianship, but the next step would be to find something... somethingish. I need to listen to it and think boy, that's really... something.
