Nothwithstanding coming from the industrial wasteland that is Rotterdam(Holland), Cat Yidaki produces some sound vibes here. The sombre bass accompanies a playful rythm that twirls along like a lazy hot sunday afternoon in the big city...

First off, i like breaks.
I had a number of mp3s set up and when this one came up, i immediately took notice. The playful sounds (like a happy apple) with the stright forward breaks worked very well, the breakdown with the guitar is a nice touch that adds a 2nd stretching pad effect.
I think the layering was nicely done, but a bit hurried. the ending also seemed to be quite abrupt, but a lovely song nonetheless. I suggest a little resturcturing and lenghtening.

Nice bass playing combined with a solid, down-tempo groove and plenty of spacey atmospherics. Download this!

this is one of the best songs i heard on ES in weeks!
It starts with some very nice bleeps creating a cool rhytm, then this lovely minimal breakbeat comes in and the track gets very groovy. then a very nice bass comes in, it's a real bass, played by a human and that's great!
and those pads!! i love them. they set a great mood. wow. everytime i hear it, i fell in love with them. just when you think; there needs to be something new in the track, a nice simple synth line enters. i could groove on this for hours. but wait there's another important thing to come in the track.. a lovely bass solo, almost sounding like a guitar. it enters the track after a nice break. And then i thought: 'yes! what a track'.
AWESOME JOB!
