This is an early song from the 4th Wintermute album, by the same name. This song further builds on my idea of ASCII/Binary music. What this means that the song uses beat patterns that reflect bits from ASCCII. This is due to the fact that in 4/4 time a bar has 8 beats just as an ASCII has 8bits. The technique creates patterns of notes with a beat/or note being on the "1"'s and the rests/no note on the "0"'s In this song, the choirs are beating out "I", "L", "U", "S", "O", and "N"--unique characters in the word "ILLUSION". while this is goign on, the sounds you hear are the vocoded words "light", "sound", "mind", "heart", soul", "music" ( all are "crosswords" to the word "ILLUSION". At the end all of these words come back together, as the word vocoded word ILLUSION brings all together. This song was made to be highly relaxing and simulate a "drug" experience.
