I've been checking out SecondLife - it's a 3d game/world where you can basically do 3d design and scripting within the world - you can create objects - assign scripts to them, stream music, video, design your avatar - your clothes, etc. I'll have more about the service later - but the idea I wanted to chat about here, is throwing Virtual Concerts.SecondLife allows you to own 'land' in the game. A common thing people do there, is create 'clubs' - and they DJ music online and it streams into the game. So you can have a shoutcast stream going and everyone can hear it in the game.
