I wrote and play this boogie for my Mom, Lois Mae Quinn. My Mother has from day one loved me and supported my music and I love her as much if not more than any mom in this world could ever be loved by her son! I love you Mom and this Boogie's for you! Update: My Mom passed on Aug. 24, 2006. Now her and my Father can dance this boogie together!

"Road House" A live concert like jam with Cliff "Big Red Blues Dawg" Houck - (Slideman) and I on stage performing Cliff's kick butt blues rocker "Road House". This collaboration was so much fun that at times I can almost see us on stage playing it, crazy huh! The effect of the concert seems so real. See what you think when you listen to the jam.

"Freddie's Blues" was written by Freddie Thomas and I (Doc Quinn) back in 1973. Freddie and I played the wheels off of this tune for several years but, here it is at its best. Recorded by the Blues AllStars - The Nashville Sessions in Sept. of 2002 at the Kitty Wells Museum and Studio (Junction Recording Studio) Nashville, TN.

"One Shoe Blues" A little story about the day I woke up with a hangover and couldn't find but one of my shoes. Had a lot going on that day and had a hell of a party the night before. The shoe was held by the courts as weapon evidence because my lil' lady was using it to club dudes with to cover my back. The reception track is next! Wow, wait till you hear this one!

On this "I'm Down, Down, Down" down and out Blues instrumental I sound out with my guitar just exactly how my soul and heart are feeling. I know not why a person gets these down and out moods but, I do know, it's, Da' Blues! Maria Daines Said: "A down down down song that makes you feel so good!! I wonder why that is!"

One take, guitar and vocal, just as a live performance! It was fun. I set in my mind that I was in a lil' jook (Ground Zero Club) in Clarksdale, Mississippi, setting there playing for a room full of friends, it was you!

This "Funky Country Blues" jam is what one should expect when a Bluesman such as myself gets down and funky. I took a lil' Blues, a whole lota soul and threw in some Country lyrics - Whammo! - "Funky Country Blues". I hope you enjoy the track!

Seems like I was always helpin' da' womens and they all wanted mo' monies than one Bluesman could make. She was spendin' my monies like I was gonna' have it twice!

"My Hurt For Natalee" - (Blues/Reggae/??) - It's no secret that I am a soft hearted whatever folks want to call me and with that said, I'll share this out of the ordinary for me jam that I found in my heart that I reckon stems from my hurting for Natalee Holloway and her family. Consist of a lil' B3, Elec. Pads, Block, Wah Ped, Crybaby Ped, Fender Strat, Fender acoustic bass, Les Paul Special, Ampeg Reverb Rocket (Tube) and a Washburn acoustic guitar for the lead mic'd thru a Line6 Pod.

Blues
Ya' know Man, it's a bad thing to feel blue but when your sad and blue it makes feeling blue "So Damn Blue". I wrote these lyrics last year (2005) and I just love them. The jam and the lyrics glow with our blues heritage. This track leans heavily on the styles of living Blues legends and Blues legends that have passed on. Sort of a Doc Pomus type song (Lonely Avenue) with a BB King - (The Thrill Is Gone) and a Albert King - (Play My Blues For You) track.

Country Blues
The words were written as a poem by my Father "Buddy Quinn" in 1965, that's 42 year ago. The original title is Danny Boy! I have always loved this poem and for years have heard it in my head as I have recorded it. All music on this track was played by me on unplugged acoustic guitar. Six different guitar tracks. Just raw down to earth playin' from the heart.

Spoken Word
My Father (Buddy Quinn) wrote "Silence" back in 1973. Until his dying day he claimed that "Silence" was his best write. He had me promise that I would have Silence put on his headstone and that was done. Wrote by the Father and recorded thirty three years later by the son. Thanks for listening, I hope you enjoyed a few moments of "Silence".

Here I'm Comin' Atcha with "Hubie The Great". An electric guitar jam. I am playing to the backing track of Robert Ewing on the Rhythm Guitars & Bass Guitar, Steve Hudgins on Drums. I recorded this tune for my good friend "Hubie Synn" to show my appreciation for all his help and friendship. Thanks "Hubie". Oh, did I mention that, Hubie is also my tax accountant!

I love it when I get into this slow but fun jammin' mood. I used to smoke a lil' reefer to get into this mood but finally it became just a thing with me. Whew, thanks for that! This lil' jam is not much to do but very fun to hear! Just a whole lot of lil' riffs that seem to work good together! Hope you dig it!

Artist/Band Profile: Doc's fifty three years of playing the guitar (1955 - 2008) reflects a Soulful Memphis Melody, then drags you right thru the middle of the Bakersfield Country Sound and tops that off like good whiskey with some Mississippi Delta Blues.

Doc's style of Blues is of his own concoction and his release of "Funky Country Blues" is a fine example of Doc's Funky, Country and Blues sound.

Similar Artists: ALBERT KING, BB King, Freddie King, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Lowell Fulson, Lighting "Sam" Hopkins, T Bone Walker and many, many more!

Music Style: Basic childhood Country licks (1950's), with some teen years Rock & Roll licks (60's), that in years to follow were stired up with my down and out Blues licks.

One might call my style a "Rockin' Country Blues" style!

roc' con' blues' = Doc "MistaBluesman" Quinn

Reviews: When I recorded my track "Hot To Trot", (a Blues rocker), a good friend, (Banker) who was in a cool clique we had going on at mp3.com stated, "Doc must have been playing three different guitars at one time using all four of his hands when he recorded this baby". Actually, It was a one take live recording with no tricks!

Influences: My Father (Buddy Quinn), Freddie Thomas, Matt Thorpe, ALBERT KING, BB King, Freddie King, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Lowell Fulson, Lighting "Sam" Hopkins, T Bone Walker and many, many more!

Studio / Music Equipment: Guitars used mostly are Gibsons, Fenders, Washburns, Regal and Sho-Bud.

Amps are none less than the best tube Ampegs available - Reverb Rockets and Bose - Double bass stand-ups. Line 6 Pod and Behringer V-Amp.

Marine Band harps, bones, spoons and a lap board Diddley Bow!

A wrinkled but clean black suit, a good soft two dollar hat and a shined up pair of "Size Fifteen Shoes", preferably cordoba or black!
