I was a young man with a wife and two small children at the time. It was my first taste of death "close up". A few months after Dad died, I sat down to write a song to commemorate his life and all that he meant to me, and this is what I came up with. My Dad will always be my hero.

When Ashley was almost 10 years old, she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. After almost a year and a half of surgeries, radiation, and chemo, she was cancer-free for 3 years. Then her cancer came back, and she died in November 2001 at the age of 14. I wrote this song to commemorate the beauty of her life and share the pain of her death. Profile
