I love the metallic rythms that act as a stabiliser for the rather loose & "freaky" synth melodies, which i also really dug. The whole atmosphere and structure of "Parallax" really reminds me of early Tangerine Dream. Well what do you know, Michael Chocholak has actually collaborated with one of the former members of that band: Conrad Schnitzler, who left early on and went solo. Anyway the only criticism would be that the rythms could have been heavier on the bass but that's just my personal taste as i like a full sound. On the whole i feel that this is a classic Michael Chocholak track and because it is non-abstract it's also much more attainable for anybody not used to hearing abstract music:)

Stunningly beautiful, yet sparse, saxophone melody combined with an atmospheric mix that consists of sythpads, filtered voices & various fx bring us into the track. The piano is somewhat unexpected but fits perfectly as the whole track shows a natural style & grace while elegantly combining Electronica with Jazz. Lounge? Superb mix=Downloaded:)

Love the sounds (organ), cool beat & bass also, chugs along in a very pleasant way, put me in a good mood for sure, nice guitar work and sax too. Good seperation in the mix, very clear. The track could have been longer and i would have a liked a B part or something but what's here is excellent!

At last something unpredictable and totally original. 1st checked out his other track "Hypnogoggleyed", which is also good, then was very pleased to find this musical gem:)) Excellent combination of electronics & acoustic instruments. Ambient Free Jazz? Structurally falling apart or barely staying in one piece, which makes for an interesting journey & ride. Like the intermittent beats also, shall have to check the remix...

What is it with human nature that loves to pay for somebody to scare them? I'm hinting at the movies and films like Alien/Scream/American Pyscho, etc, that manage this and also entertain us at the same time? The sounds in this track are really top notch and for anybody into synthesizers this is a gold mine and confirmation of the tools used can be had if you check out Palancar's website. An impressive list of synths by anybody's standards BUT it's not what you have but how you use what you have and Palancar does that very well. Scary soundtrack indeed, especially the low frequency drones. Wonderful use of Reverb & delays bring real depth and a wideness to this rather black soundcape. Play loud!
