Interesting stuff. A slow, fade up from nothing beginning reveals some trippy pitch wheel abused melody. The beat is right on - not to fast, but not dogging it either. lafoque is enjoying his blood and will not be rushed. Some nice veriations and plays on his initial beat leading up to the two minute mark enrich the piece nicely. By the three minutes, however, the track begins to get a wee bit repetative, with a somewhat awkward transition going into the four minute mark. Definately some interesting sounds and structure - a must if the experimental is what gets your blood in a boil.

Starts out with great percussion - the spoken sample is mixed a little loud, but it quickly is pounded over by an aggressive, if not beautiful piece. I'm not sure how I feel about the events of Sept. 11th, 2001 being played out in this song - as to whether its omage or exploitation, but looking strictly at the music, a very competent piece. In fact, as this piece went on, the samples became more of a distraction and any groove that I might have gotten going was killed. The playback of the flight controller's conversation the are supposed to amount to the 'chilling' ending seem just sloppy. Like I said, this would have been a killer track, but attempts to make it somehow 'grandeous' actually got in the way and ruined it.

Beautiful beginning that doesn't waste time before gettting down to business. The momentum that was started was quickly squashed by the keyboard that enters at 0:25- it is a little on the generic Casio sounding side. The section at 1:10 is very good - the panned digital bits throughout are nice. These mountains are very soothing.

Very nice until the ACID sample hit. Very cinematic in scope. Just when I'm about to get into it, another ACID sample from the basic collection hits and looses my concentration. Also very short which disappointed me. Some great ideas here but the implementation leaves something to be desired.

A staple on any halloween mix disc, house of horrors starts off with the appropriately spooky pads. The transistion at 0:52 struck me as a little rough however. There are some very nice, aggressive synth sounds that emerge. Moves nicely with the percussion during this 'second' intro. Great use of the stereo field. Some great stuff here, tarnished just slightly with some awkward transistion. Good work!
